When the final siren sounded in the NWFL development league grand final, Devonport coach Bodie Murphy felt relieved.
That's because the Magpies did enough to secure their fourth consecutive flag, with a 9.11 (65) to 4.8 (32) victory over Burnie on Saturday, September 20.
"These boys put in so much hard work but it's 50-50 on the day and we delivered, so that's the main thing," Murphy said post-match at Latrobe Football Ground.
"It's just a relief that our processes were enough. You invest so much time, but we still had to bring our best; you can't be too confident.
"Last year, we thought that was it and didn't take our chances, but this year, we were able to do that. I'm excited and proud of the group."
