Indio High School struggled over the first four weeks of the football season in the valley, which made Friday's win even sweeter.

The Rajahs fell behind at home against San Gorgonio before rallying to a 27-16 win at Ed White Stadium.

First-year assistant coach Jake Shipley took over defensive play-calling duties and Indio responded with its best defensive effort of the season. The Rajahs (1-4) had allowed at least 43 points in all four of their losses.
