Week 5 of high school football in Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties is in the books. Here are noteworthy performances from this week’s gridiron action.

Keenan Early, Ashbrook: His interception sealed a 20-14 Green Wave win over South Point. He was part of a defense which limited the Red Raiders to 98 rushing yards and 160 total yards.

Savion Lindsay, Ashbrook: Rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

A.J. McClain, Ashbrook: Completed 7-of-10 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown, in addition to six carries and 54 rushing yards.

Martino Smith, Ashbrook: Ran for 60 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

Max Davis, Burns: Had touchdown runs of 5, 76 and 46 yards, in addition to a fumble return for a TD in a 50-0 Bulldog win at Bessemer City.
