One week after stunning Rumson-Fair Haven , Holmdel, No. 18 in the NJ.com Top 20, kept its momentum going as Jack Cannon accounted for all seven touchdowns in its 49-21 win against Middletown South in Holmdel.

Middletown South (0-4) opened the scoring in the first quarter before Holmdel (3-0) tied things up at seven with a touchdown run from Jack Cannon.

Holmdel took a 14-7 lead with 2:58 left in the second quarter with a touchdown pass from Cannon to Anthony Serini.

Cannon gave Holmdel a 21-7 lead with 2:13 remaining in the first half with a touchdown run.

Middletown South cut it to a 21-14 game with two minutes remaining in the first half, but Holmdel responded with a touchdown pass from Cannon to James Murphy to take a 28-14 lead with 1:39 left.
