The best game in the Big 12 kicks off early on Saturday morning from Salt Lake City. The No. 16 Texas Tech Red Raiders will face off with the No. 18 Utah Utes at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. local time with the Fox Sports crew in town for Big Noon Kickoff. Whoever wins this matchup will likely be viewed as the odds-on favorite to win the Big 12.

Texas Tech is coming off its third and final nonconference matchup against Oregon State. Much like Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Kent State before them, they didn't put up much of a fight. They have outscored the opposition 174-35. The Red Raiders have yet to give up a first-half point this season, but that could come to an end Saturday with the Utes.

Likewise, the Utah Utes are coming off their third nonconference win of the year. They dismantled the UCLA Bruins, Cal-Poly, and Wyoming Cowboys by a combined score of 137-25. Newcomer Devon Dampier has revitalized the offense with his dual-threat ability. Get your popcorn ready.

Texas Tech hasn't been challenged, but the first-team offense has looked efficient. Senior quarterback Behren Morton is poised to show that this is a different team from years past. While I don't expect another first-half shutout for the defense, I expect a lot of pressure on the Utah quarterback from Romello Height and David Bailey coming off the edge.

Much like the opposition for this game, Utah has yet to face a team that can threaten the Utes. While they did play UCLA in the opener, a team that just fired its head coach, there has been no reason to worry for four quarters this season. This will be a great test for Utah after the strong 3-0 start. Devon Dampier will be a handful for any defense to stop.

There is a reason the line is so close. I won't be surprised if these two teams meet at AT&T Stadium in December. The Red Raiders aren't UCLA, and this offense is dangerous. Give me the Red Raiders.
