ALLEN PARK— The Detroit Lions ‘ performance in Sunday’s blowout win over the Chicago Bears was so nice, offensive coordinator John Morton had to watch it twice.

Morton, in his first season with the Lions , went through the tape of Detroit’s thrashing of the Bears an extra time this week. He did so in appreciation of his unit’s effort. The Lions posted 52 points, matching their high from last season, and averaged 8.8 yards per play, setting a new franchise record for a single game.

Quarterback Jared Goff was in a groove, completing 23 of his 28 passes for 334 yards and five touchdowns, three of which went to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who also racked up 115 yards receiving. Jameson Williams created two explosive plays, and running back Jahmyr Gibbs finished with 104 total yards on 15 touches.
