The Optus 000 scandal, which has engulfed Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Terriotry — must not only be investigated, but measures taken to make sure it never happens again.

Those were the words on Saturday from Optus CEO Stephen Rue to the families of four Australians — two from WA — who died after unsuccessful attempts to get through to 000.
Weasel words.
It beggars belief that in 2025, 600 people — 149 from our State — could dial 000 for desperate help, and get crickets because of an alleged “technical failure” by Optus on Thursday.
It also beggars belief that the full extent of the failings were not made public by Optus until Friday afternoon.
