On Tuesday, the Washington Center for the Book announced the winners of the 59th annual 2025 Washington State Book Awards. A panel of librarians, authors and independent booksellers selected the seven winners from a pool of 271 books published by Washington state authors in 2024.
Books for adults
Creative Nonfiction/Memoir: “Feeding Ghosts: A Graphic Memoir” by Tessa Hulls of Seattle/Port Townsend (MCD).
Fiction: “Rough Trade” by Katrina Carrasco of Seattle (MCD).
General Nonfiction/Biography: “Be a Revolution” by Ijeoma Oluo of Seattle (HarperOne).
Poetry: “Something About Living” by Lena Khalaf Tuffaha of Redmond (The University of Akron Press)
