SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg Police Department responded to a fatal shooting Saturday morning.

Officers said they responded to a residence located on Amherst Drive at 12:50 a.m. Upon arrival, they located an unresponsive juvenile inside the kitchen area.

Police said the victim had sustained at least two gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said a preliminary investigation shows the victim was sitting in the living room of the residence when multiple gunshots were fired from the front yard into the home. The gunfire penetrated the front bay window and hit the victim.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office will release the identity.
