OUTING, Minn. — The last time anyone saw Jami Lyle Lucas alive was while being chased by Minnesota’s Cass County Sheriff’s deputies on July 3, 2020.
Deputies issued commands for him to stop, but Jamie turned into woods after crashing his motorcycle, and vanished. Despite searches through the thick woods off Highway 6 and Eastburn Road, he has never been found.
Five years have passed, and Sandy Lucas has lost hope that she will ever see her son alive again.
“I know he has died. In my heart of hearts, you know. He hasn’t been in contact with anyone," Sandy told Forum News Service in a recent interview. "I tried not to dwell on it in the beginning, I kept my hope up. You know how gossip spreads, he’s here, he’s there, but no, but he’s not here.”
