DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The 29th Air Force Marathon was held on Saturday morning at the Nutter Center.

Thousands of people run in the marathon every year. For 2025, there was the marathon, half-marathon, relay, 10K, 5K, Tailwind Trot and Fly! Fight! Win! Challenge from Thursday, Sept. 18, to Saturday, Sept. 20.

2 NEWS spoke with Commander of the 88th Mission Support Group Colonel Marietta Sanders about the marathon.

“The 88th MSG is responsible for, primarily, the logistical support, but the Air Force Marathon team works for the Mission Support Group. Our group is responsible for all the coordination, planning and execution of today’s event,” said Colonel Sanders. “Really, it’s across Team Wright-Patt and our community partners as well; we couldn't do it without them.”
