DECATUR, Ga. — A death investigation is underway after a child was found unresponsive at a community pool and later died at the hospital, according to City of Decatur officials.
According to officials, Decatur Fire and Rescue were called to the Oakhurst Recreation Center and Pool located at 450 East Lake Drive at around 3:55 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.
When they arrived, the pool staff were performing CPR on the child. The child was then taken to the hospital, where they passed away.
The Oakhurst Recreation Center and Pool will remain closed until further notice, officials said.
