FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Several Fayette County schools parents and community members are outraged after a photo circulated online of five people at a Whitewater High School volleyball game last week with their faces and bodies painted black.

Adrian Cooley spoke out along with others during the school board meeting's public comment period.

"Well let me tell you, if you've never had a blackface incident at your child's school, you don't know the pain I felt when I saw that picture," Cooley said.

The superintendent apologized at the meeting. Families though are questioning how the group was allowed into the building in the first place and want to make sure this doesn't happen again.

The picture drew the attention of Democratic State Representative Derrick Jackson and local NAACP leaders.
