A man and woman have been charged after a disturbance sparked an armed response in Castlemilk.

Emergency services were called to Ballantay Road at around 1.40pm on Friday, September 19. A 53-year-old man was rushed from the scene to hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses told how around half a dozen police vehicles descended on the street. Pictures from the scene show uniformed officers and specialist gun cops responding to the incident as the area was sealed off.

Armed officers were spotted in surrounding gardens. Other images show police tape stretched across the residential street as horrified locals watched on.

Police Scotland confirmed to the Record a 40-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
