BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - The Katrina tree sculptures along Highway 90 in Biloxi have recently undergone restoration work.

Workers stained and sealed the sculptures to help preserve them from the elements.

Twenty years ago, several artists transformed the still-standing remnants of live oaks that Hurricane Katrina destroyed into sculptures that now dot the median along Highway 90.

Biloxi Community Development contracted T.J. McClain Tree Service to do the work.

The project was completed in just a few days and cost less than $5,000.
