There are three candidates running for two positions on the Ocean Isle Beach Board of Commissioners.

Incumbent Wayne Rowell is seeking re-election and faces challengers Polly Bristow and Mark Robertson.

This beach town is located in Brunswick County, south of Holden Beach and north of Sunset Beach. According to the town's website, it has a year-round population of about 640 residents.

The town has a mayor-council form of government, with one mayor and a board of five commissioners with one acting as the mayor pro tempore. This race is nonpartisan. In Ocean Isle Beach, commissioners serve four-year terms and receive a annual stipend of $5,000, and the mayor receives an annual stipend of $7,000.

The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and polls will be open from 6:30 a.m.
