EAST ROCKHILL – Pennridge quarterback Noah Keating, who also serves as the Rams’ punter, missed an earlier opening at going for a fake punt pass against North Penn Friday night.
“We were yelling at him to throw it the first time in the first half and he thought we were telling him to go, go, go,” Pennridge coach Kyle Beller said. “So when he came over we said if it’s there again we’re going to yell your name.”
In the third quarter, the opportunity arose once more on a 4th and 15 from the Rams’ own 41 and this time Keating took advantage, tossing a pass to a wide-open Michael Ferguson for a 43-yard gain down to the Knights’ 16.
“It wasn’t even called, there was just no one on him,” Keating said. “And I was like, I’m throwing this.”
