JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Capitol police announced that a man was arrested after a chase ended in a crash at a Jackson golf course.

Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said Capitol police were alerted by Jackson police about a stolen white 2013 Hyundai Sonata at the West Express Convenience Store on Fortification and West streets.

As officers responded to the business, Martin said the vehicle fled the scene, which led to a chase. Officers pursued the vehicle onto the Sonny Guy Municipal Golf Course when the suspect left the roadway. Martin said the officers continued their pursuit until the suspect's vehicle collided with a tree on the golf course.
