CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) - Carthage forced three second-half turnovers and scored three times on the ground in the second half to put Chapel Hill away 56-34.

Carthage came alive in the second half after playing Chapel Hill to a 28-28 tie in the first half.

Leading the way for Carthage was the running back duo of KJ Edwards and Benny Smith. Edwards had 18 carries for 180 yards and three touchdowns, while Smith had 15 carries for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Surratt was 13-of-19 through the air for 180 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

For Chapel Hill, quarterback Malik Gee was 20-of-32 for 275 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Maliek Brown caught nine passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns.
