LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Tyler High jumped out to a 14-0 lead over Lufkin before the Panthers stormed back to win 28-21 in the final non-district contest for both teams.

KLTV Sports Director Michael Coleman and KTRE Sports Director Ryan Smith broke down the game on Red Zone Overtime. Smith says the game was sloppy because of penalties.

“Tyler’s defense gave them opportunities to win the game. It was just a sloppy game overall with the penalties,” Smith said. “The defense gave the offense a chance and at the end of the day, the lone turnover ended up killing them in the end, which is how these games go sometimes.”

Coleman says the penalties are fixable.

“No matter what level, NFL, college or high school, when you start racking up penalties, it kind of takes you out of your zone,” Coleman
