YORK, S.C. (WBTV) - As food costs continue to rise, food pantries are seeing more people that need their assistance.

One York County school district was able to partner with the only food bank in their area to help them restock their shelves as inventory was getting low.

York School District 1 is partnering with PATH Food Bank in York to help address food and security. They were able to raise enough donations to continue helping families that need food.

In the city of York, PATH offers a range of services including financial assistance, educational programs, and a food bank.

“We have families that come to us, and they’ll call us on the phone saying, ‘I need food,’ and we try to get them as much as possible,” said PATH development director Arlene Richardson-Maier.
