ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - A man was arrested earlier this week after stealing more than $900 worth of trading cards in St. Charles County, police say.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Wade Theodore Braungardt, 37, of Florissant, Missouri, with one felony count of stealing ($750 or more).

According to a probable cause statement obtained by FOX 2, on Wednesday afternoon, an employee at a Dardenne Prairie store notified police that a man tried to leave without paying, refused to stop, then reentered the store and ran toward the back.

Officers responded and found the man, later identified as Braungardt, inside the store. Investigators say he was observed to be tying a knot on a bag he was carrying. Police promptly detained Braungardt and recovered the bag.
