COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Hundreds of Texas A&M University students, former students, staff, and well-wishers gathered midday Friday outside the Administration Building to send off outgoing President Mark Welsh with cheers, gifts, applause, and an impromptu Yell Practice in his honor.
Welsh, a retired Air Force general, is stepping down after nearly two years as the school’s 27th president. The Board of Regents confirmed his resignation on Thursday, saying his last day would be Friday.
