BILLINGS, Mont. – Billings Police Department said that, while Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter does not have room to accept stray animals, local veterinary clinics also do not have capacity to house them either.

They said this reminder is important because some citizens were dropping off stray animals at local veterinary clinics.

“We kindly ask that you do not bring strays to these locations,” they wrote .

“We greatly appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during this evolving situation. Efforts are underway to restore normal operations, though this process may take several weeks,” they added.

Public Relations Sergeant Jeff Stovall listed his information for anyone with questions: (406)-208-5726 or stovallje@billingsmt.gov .
