HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — Hundreds got together Saturday morning for the third annual Walk for the Homeless in Hinesville.
Another Chance Outreach Ministries (ACOM) hosted their annual Walk for the Homeless event to bring awareness of homelessness, families in need and homeless students.
According to Irving White, CEO of ACOM, Liberty County has seen an increase in homeless students, nearing 1,600 affected individuals and children.
"It's going to get worse before it gets better," says White. "And the reason it's going to get worse is because the fact that a lot of the funding for the different shelters and the different places that provide services for the homeless are being cut back, according to the federal government."
