CHICAGO (WCJB) - After a big performance on day two No.4 Florida Men’s Golf team is now in first place of the Fighting Illini Collegiate.

The Gators shot a tournament record 13-under on Saturday, helping them gain a seven-shot lead. The 267 (-13) day narrowly beat the previous record of 269 (-11) set by North Carolina in 2023.

Senior Matthew Kress led the way for Florida, shooting a 67 (-3). The Saratoga, California-native now shares the individual lead (-5) at the event with Oklahoma State’s Gaven Lane.

Kress looks to pick up his second collegiate win and first-ever Gator to win the tournament.
