Cancer is a disease that can take people away, but it also brings people together.
People who have survived having cancer, who are caring for people with cancer, who have lost loved ones to cancer, who just want there to finally be a cure that stops cancer before it starts.
These people and many more turned out for the Lobo Cancer Challenge Saturday to raise money for ongoing research at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center. And they challenged themselves with walking, running, climbing stairs and bicycling events.
Cheryl Bonner, decked out in a costume fit for Mardi Gras, was told she only had a few months to live when she was first diagnosed. Now she's a three-year cancer survivor who sees the Lobo Challenge as an antidote to the pain, fear and
