ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Law enforcement in New Mexico has taken a step forward, with the Duke City leading the way.
The Albuquerque Police Department now has a fleet of drones that can be used in clusters, or "hives," that they say are able to reach the scene of police activity within 90 seconds.
APD says it's the first police department in the state to have this law enforcement tool.
So far, the "hives" have been involved in four arrests, including one at Pat Hurley Park. A suspect wanted for aggravated assault was from officers, tossing evidence along the way, all of it videoed by the drones.
