BRAINTREE – It was all sunshine and blue skies for Thayer Academy as the school enjoyed its annual Homecoming celebration. Yet that went awry during the football game, as Lawrence Academy rewrote the script and won 28-6 on the road.

The game turned only three plays into the first quarter. Thayer (0-1) appeared to have the advantage after forcing Lawrence Academy into a third-and-20 from their own 20-yard line, yet that only provided quarterback Jayden Campbell with more room to operate. Campbell then gave his Spartans a lead they would not relinquish with an 80-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Green.

“I saw Isaiah in man-to-man press coverage,” said Campbell (11-14, 190 yards, two touchdowns, INT). “And I trust him to make that play.”
