LITCHFIELD, N.H. —

Christmas tree farms are grappling with the effects of the continuing summer drought, impacting the growth of new trees.

The National Weather Service says since the spring, drought conditions have expanded across the central and northern regions of New Hampshire. Similar conditions were last seen in southern and southeastern areas of the state in 2022, and closer to the southern border in 2020.

This past summer was the 11th driest on record for Concord, where record-keeping has stayed the most consistent for New Hampshire. For the next week, conditions don't look to improve in the forecast.
