NASHUA, N.H. —

A gunman opened fire Saturday night at a New Hampshire country club, killing one person and wounding “several other” people.

A witness who was at the country club when the shooting happened told WMUR-TV they heard six to seven shots at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua.

Attorney General John Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke say the person who died was an adult male.

Authorities say a person of interest was detained at the scene. He was also described as an adult male.

Police say there is no further danger to the public. Information on the conditions of the wounded victims was not immediately available.
