COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Kershaw County Fire Service assisted in the rescue of a horse that was struck in a pond Saturday morning.

Around 8 a.m., Kershaw County Fire Service was notified of a horse stuck in a pond.

Personnel from KCFS, Animal Control, and the Camden Fire Department responded with large animal rescue equipment.

According to officials, they were able to use rope rescue equipment along with Camden FD’s large animal rescue harnesses to free the horse.

A local vet arrived on scene and gave the horse a checkup that resulted in no complications found.
