CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) — Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Corning native Duane Eddy is being recognized in downtown Corning for his work as an artist. Mayor Bill Boland has proclaimed September 20, 2025, as Duane Eddy Day in the city of Corning.

Eddy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and is known as the inventor of twang-style music. To honor Eddy, the mayor presented his wife, Deed Eddy, a key to the city. There was also an unveiling of a historical marker in Centennial Park,
