SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- Starting Saturday, you will see double decker buses making their way through Spokane County as Spokane Transit Authority launces its new bus service between Cheney and Spokane.
The new buses have 82 seats and are able to accommodate up to 120 passengers if people choose to stand.
Eastern Washington University says this offers a sense of relief to students who often have to deal with overcrowded routes.
"They're a symbol of innovation and of meeting the needs of our growing community," said EWU President Shari McMahan. "For Eastern, it means easier and more comfortable travel for our students, faculty and staff."
STA says the buses have WiFi, individual air vents for passengers and reading lights.
