A street has been completely submerged in water after flood alerts were issued across Greater Manchester.

Residents of Peel Green Road, Salford , say water has entered their homes and their cars have been damaged this evening (September 20). Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one resident said she is watching her son attempt to move her car while she is on holiday in Turkey.

She said: "Someone rang the door bell and I went to see who it was and I saw my car submerged underwater. I've had to phone my son to see if he could get someone to help him move my car.

"He's not got a licence, he's only got a provisional, so he's been trying to knock on the neighbour's door. He's had to practically swim to get home.
