GLENDALE, Ariz. — The number of mourners expected to attend conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s memorial service Sunday in Glendale could exceed even the overflow capacity planned for the event, Glendale Police said Saturday.
Initial estimates of crowd sizes for the event – which will include both the president and vice president as speakers – could reach up to 200,000 people, said Glendale Police Public Information Administrator Jose Santiago.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that the two facilities will not accommodate all the folks that will be arriving here,” Santiago said. “This is an all-hands-on-deck situation. Every officer within our department is working.”
