PITTSBURGH -- Bubba Chandler shined once again Saturday in his third Major League start, striking out six over five scoreless innings as the Pirates beat the Athletics at PNC Park, 2-0 .

Chandler allowed one hit and hit a batter with no walks on the evening. He quickly established his fastball by striking out the side in the first inning, and he continued to fire it throughout the night, accounting for 35 of his 68 pitches thrown. He also pumped gas consistently, throwing 10 pitches at least 100 mph. Since the advent of pitch tracking in 2008, Paul Skenes is the only Pirate starter to ever do that in a start.

He got just as many whiffs with his secondary stuff, though, picking up six whiffs with the fastball, five with his changeup and four with his slider.
