President Donald Trump says he intends to nominate one of his former defense attorneys, Lindsay Halligan, to lead a key federal prosecutor's office in Virginia. Lindsey Halligan, who is currently working in the White House staff secretary's office, represented Trump for a time during the classified documents investigation. Trump made the announcement in a post on his social media platform, saying the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia needed a "tough prosecutor" in order "to get things moving."
