Brewer committee hosts all-day event, raises money for local animal orphanage

BREWER -- The Brewer Waterfront on Saturday, September 20, was the place to be for dog owners.

Paws on the Penobscot brought community members together for a full-day of events that both celebrated pets and raised funds for the Old Town Animal Orphanage .

Hosted by the Brewer Culture and Arts Committee, the day included a fundraiser walk, a talent show, a fashion show, informational seminars, and a Yappy Hour outside Mason's Brewing Company.

"It was an all-day affair," said committee president Tammy Lunn. "We had a great turnout and it was just fantastic. Our raffle raised thousands of dollars and we're very excited about that, and we're excited to turn the check over to them."
