OMAHA, Neb. —

High school bands from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota gathered at Millard West High School for the 16th annual Wildcat Classic, where students demonstrated their musical expertise on the football field.

Millard west band director John Keith said like sports, field marching is a physically demanding activity.

Rain or shine, the students are out practicing, memorizing their music, and where to move.

At performances, they're scored on their musical quality and showmanship, and they have to do it all in under 15 minutes.

"You know, you're working as a team, you're learning that you're part of a group, and everyone's relying on you. But it's a little different from sports in the standpoint that everyone's a player. We don't have a bench players. So, we're not that there's a
