After Wednesday’s practice, Mission Bay High School coach Greg Tate brought his team together and told the Buccaneers that it has been 16 years since the program enjoyed an undefeated season. That 2009 team finished 13-0, winning the Buccaneers’ last section championship.
“That was really a wake-up call,” said running back/DB Shane Brushie. “We should start our own history. That’s pretty long. I feel it’s long overdo.”
The Buccaneers are one of the 2025 season’s feel-good stories and the good times continued to roll Friday night as Mission Bay celebrated homecoming by defeating Coronado 49-14.
The Bucs have been riding the right arm of senior quarterback Trey Arnold and the 6-foot-2, 200-pound passer was at his best against the Islanders, completing 25 of 35 passes for 421 yards and six
