BALTIMORE -- Giancarlo Stanton hit his 450 th career home run and Aaron Judge continued to bolster his strong case for a third American League Most Valuable Player award as the Yankees defeated the Orioles, 6-1 , on Saturday evening at Camden Yards.

The Blue Jays’ loss to Kansas City earlier in the night means the Yankees ( 87-68 ) trail Toronto (89-66) by just two games in the American League East, with seven games remaining. The Blue Jays own the tiebreaker between the two clubs.

Stanton gave his club an early lead with an opposite-field three-run shot off right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano, moving past Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Jeff Bagwell (449) for sole possession of 41st place all-time. Carl Yastrzemski is next, with 452.
