MIDDLETON, Wis. (WMTV) - A group of young women had the chance to explore different careers in aviation at Middleton’s Morey Field on Saturday.

The Four Lakes Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) hosted the free event to mark 'Girls in Aviation Day.' The girls had the opportunity to meet professionals in the field and learn about their experiences and career paths. Speakers included an airline pilot, drone operators, cargo pilot and more.

According to 2024 FAA statistics, women now make over 10 percent of all pilots. Girls in Aviation Day is part of a national movement to inspire more women to join the industry.
