DENVER -- Mike Trout , no stranger to making history and reaching impressive milestones in his illustrious career, launched his 400th career home run during the eighth inning of the Angels’ 3-0 victory over the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday night.

The solo shot to left-center field, which went a Statcast-projected 485 feet, was Trout’s 22nd home run of the season and his second since Aug. 6. Though he has played in more games this year (124) than in any season since 2021 (134), Trout has been hampered by injuries and has seen his offensive production decline significantly.

Still, with the prodigious blast on Saturday in Colorado, he became the second active player with at least 400 career home runs, joining the Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton, who hit his 450th on Saturday.
