Police fatally shot a person suspected of homicide early Saturday morning following a high-speed chase that culminated outside a California In-N-Out , according to police.

The suspect was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Carlsbad, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said on social media Saturday.

Police responded on Friday evening a little before 10 p.m. to reports of gunfire in Carlsbad, where they discovered a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the City of Carlsbad Police Department said in a statement posted on social media early Saturday morning. The woman was later pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and her car had been stolen.
