COLUMBIA, Mo. — The NCAA doesn’t keep missed tackles as an official statistic.

That was the brightest note from South Carolina’s 29-20 loss at No. 23 Missouri on Sept. 20.

The Tigers’ Ahmad Hardy rushed for 138 of Missouri’s 287 ground yards, including the game-winning touchdown, as the Gamecocks could not get him on the ground. Whether it was not getting their arms around his waist, missing his ankles as they dove or finding out that no, hitting a ball-carrier simply isn’t enough to get him down unless one is Andre the Giant, he couldn't be stopped.
