One of the messages of the week for Duke football ahead of its ACC opener vs. NC State was playing complementary football, and on Saturday night at Wallace Wade Stadium, the Blue Devils delivered.
In their 45-33 win over the Wolfpack , the Blue Devils defense forced four turnovers against a Wolfpack offense that entered the game with just one on the season. Three were interceptions, one each by DaShawn Stone, Moussa Kane and Tre Freeman, while Wesley Williams recovered a fumble.
Duke scored off of one of those turnovers – in perhaps what was the turning point of the game – after Freeman's late-second-quarter interception set them up at the Wolfpack 12.
