CALDWELL — The Yotes wasted no time in gaining a big lead on Montana State-Northern.

The College of Idaho scored on the first four possessions in Saturday afternoon’s contest with the Lights. Paired with the defense holding MSU-Northern to under 100 yards in the first half, there was no way back for the visitors in the second half. The Yotes came away with a 38-16 win at Simplot Stadium to improve to 3-0.

The offense was humming early with Caden Young at quarterback. After settling for a field goal in the red zone on their first series, Young hit wide receiver Corban Freese over the middle for a three-yard touchdown to go up 10-0 late in the first quarter. Ryken EchoHawk and Rylie Byington both added a rushing score in the second quarter to put the College of Idaho up 24-0.
