BRANTFORD - Caleb Malhotra had a goal and assist in a four-goal first period and the Brantford Bulldogs went on to defeat the visiting Peterborough Petes 5-1 in Ontario Hockey League action on Saturday.

Tommy Karmiris, Vladimir Dravecky, Luca Testa and Aiden O'Donnell scored for the Bulldogs, who led 4-1 after the first period. Cooper Dennis chipped in with two assists.

Yanis Lutz scored for the Petes, who were outshot 38-37.

The Bulldogs went 1-for-10 on the power play, while the Petes were 0-for-3.
