DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - In the craft district, many were celebrating the fall season’s honorary fashion piece, the flannel.

The annual Flannel Festival took over Bent Paddle Brewing Co. on Saturday as everyone celebrated the kick-off event for new seasonal beers.

The event also featured beer poking, or the German tradition ‘Bierstacheln’, which caramelizes the sugar in the beer to create a sweet foam and richer flavor for many dark beers enjoyed in the colder months.

Everyone was invited to enjoy live music, play an assortment of games, and have a good time with good beverages.

Organizers say this time of year, plenty of people stop by hoping to see the northlands’ fall colors.
